Rumor..Egypt is to organize a temporary exhibition for the treasured collection of the golden king Tutankhamun in Tokyo, Japan

Some foreign newspapers and social media platforms circulated a news claiming that the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities intend to organize a temporary archaeological exhibition for the collection of the golden king Tutankhamun in Tokyo, Japan.

The media center of the Council of Ministers contacted the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, which denied this news, confirming unfounded and not true. The ministry asserts that the treasures of King Tutankhamun will remain in Egypt, to be fully displayed at the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is set to officially open soon, without traveling outside Egypt for any temporary exhibitions, whether in Japan or in any other country.

In addition, the ministry asserts that there are no negotiations or discussions between the Supreme Council of Antiquities and any institutions or individuals in Egypt or abroad regarding the establishment of an exhibition of the treasures of King Tutankhamun in Japan.

We urge various media outlets and social media users to exercise accuracy and objectivity when publishing news, and to contact the relevant authorities to verify information before spreading claims that lack factual basis, which can lead to public confusion.
